FEELS LIKE HOME

<< Something in your eyes
Makes me want to lose myself
In your dreams>>
When the song came on, Blair paused for a moment in his holiday preparations to turn up
the volume. He had never heard it before, but it was in sheer contrast to the regular
holiday tunes. The words evoked a familiar feeling in him. "Jim," he whispered.
<<There's something in your voice
Makes my heart beat fast
And I hope this feeling lasts
The rest of my life>>
Jim, who was on his way home, turned the volume up as well when the song came on. The
words made him think of Blair. *Nothing can bring me out of a zone-out like your voice,
Chief, * he thought.
<<If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how low I've felt for so long
If you knew how I wanted someone
To come along
And change my life the way you've done>>
"That's Jim in a nutshell," Blair said to himself as he tried to untangle the
tinsel. Why hadn't anyone come up with an idea on how to store tinsel so it wouldn't
tangle?
*That's Blair in a nutshell, * Jim thought as he heard the same section of the same song
when he turned onto Prospect Avenue.
<<It feels like home to me, feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back
Where I come from
And it feels like home to me, feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong>>
Blair looked around the loft that was his and Jim's home. "It sure does."
*The loft surely is where I belong - with Blair,* Jim thought as he rode the elevator up
to the loft.
<<A window breaks
Down a long dark street
And a siren wails in the night
But I'm all right 'cause I have you here with me
And I can almost see
Through the dark there's a light>>
Blair smiled. *No matter what, Jim's always been there for me. He conquers his fears for
my sake. All I can do is return the favor.*
When Jim entered the loft, he was greeted by his smiling roommate and the same song that
he had been listening to in the car.
<<If you knew how much this moment
Means to me
And how long I've waited for your touch
If you knew how happy you're making me
I never thought I'd love anyone so much>>
<<And it feels like home to me, feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back
Where I come from
And it feels like home to me, feels like home to me
Feels like I'm all the way back where I belong>>
Jim looked from the stereo to his roommate. "Have you heard the whole song,
Blair?"
"Yes, I have. You too?"
"Yeah. Reminds me of a certain anthropologist I know."
"It's about friendship."
Jim put his arm around Blair's shoulder, "Happy holidays, Chief."
"Happy holidays, Jim."
THE END
